Mission: To support the revitalization of Uptown Oakridge.

Vision: A thriving Uptown district that is welcoming to business and individuals.

We make Uptown stand out

It all begins with our members and volunteers, who are passionate about the vitality of the Uptown Business District and making it welcoming to visitors and residents.

From installing and maintaining flower baskets on the street light poles to posting the stars and stripes in honor of national holidays, rain or shine.

Our members and volunteers lend a hand in helping other community-sponsored events are well-staffed and sponsoring RDI workshops and our Plaidtober day at the Hoodoo Garden.

The Keg and Cask Festival, established in 2008, transforms two blocks of the downtown corridor into a celebration of regional craft beverages. This single-day street festival, characterized by musical performances and vendor displays, operates through extensive volunteer coordination and the generous contribution of products from local breweries. The event's proceeds support community food security initiatives through the local food box program.

The Tree Planting Festival, dating to 1953, represents a lasting connection to Oakridge's timber heritage. Originally conceived during the peak of lumber operations as a reforestation initiative capable of planting up to 10,000 seedlings daily, this three-day celebration has evolved into a comprehensive community gathering. The festival features a district parade and recreational activities, with logistical support provided through a partnership between municipal staff and community volunteers.

Recent community planning efforts include an April 2024 Rural Development Initiative (RDI) workshop, which attracted 40 participants in a structured dialogue addressing downtown revitalization. This engagement process employed collaborative discussion and ideation methodologies to envision future development scenarios.

The community's creative programming extends to events like Plaidtober, a themed celebration centered around the Hoodoo rock garden that culminates in a commemorative group photograph. This event exemplifies the district's capacity to generate distinctive cultural programming that strengthens community bonds while attracting visitor interest.
